The seventh Summer Space School 2022 was held in Moscow

From August 6 to 14, the annual Summer Space School was held at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow with the support of Roscosmos State Corporation and the Empathy Charitable Foundation.

The Summer Space School is an educational project for space enthusiasts consisting of exciting lectures, breakout sessions, excursions and a space mission simulation. This year more than 120 schoolchildren, students and adults participated in the School.

During 9 days more than 80 lectures from representatives of the rocket and space industry took place, including speeches by five cosmonauts, a radio communication session with the ISS and a teleconference with the Vostochny Cosmodrome. At the end of the School, the participants became crew members of an interplanetary expedition to Mars by simulating the flight of the Korolev spacecraft.

The event has been organized by a team of enthusiasts since 2015. This year, the School’s partners were joined by Mikhail Shelkov’s Empathy Charitable Foundation, which helped the youngest space conquerors – schoolchildren from the Sverdlovsk region – to learn the secrets of our universe from the main experts of the rocket and space industry.
